Crime Of Passion

For the record, we are good, honest folks with no previous record of smuggling utensils or blankets out of airplanes. Or ta pau-ing food from a buffet spread.

Yet hubby brought these home for me after breakfast, stuffed inconspicuously into his shirt pocket. Straight from the buffet.

It’s a crime of passion all right. After all, how do you say no to a pregnant lady craving a sodium fix?

*Still having no luck finding Marmite/Bovril in Seremban and selected supermarkets in KL. Laying off Champagne Marmite for obvious reasons. Oh no, please don’t take this as a desperate solicitation for free yeast extract!

  1. Try the shop at the basement of Seremban Parade. They stock lots of exotic stuff.

oh. my. god. vegemite?? like, seriously? i could bring TUBS of these back if u wish, although i still think marmite beats vegemite hands-down ;)

ps: for sodium fix, wat abt the local “kiam hu” (salted fish)? hahahaha… ;p

Jimbo, neither Mercado in Seremban Parade or Pavillion has stock :(

Yeah Jun, Marmite IS the best…but Vegemite’s all we could lay our hands on right now. Some sodium is better than no sodium!

  4. Wah, u r really hardcore marmite/bovril lover. I have never tasted vegemite before. Is the taste similar as bovril or marmite?

Btw, can u delete my previous comment? Thanks :)

  5. wats tat eh?
    wats vegemite?

  6. I saw Marmite being sold in Jusco Maluri. It’s at the reception counter, displayed in a glass showcase. I didn’t know Marmite is a prized item.

Chen, HARDcore is the word! I think my love for Marmite was cultivated at the age of 4 on a vacation at my aunt’s – Marmite “soup” was served at the dinner table. Marmite packs more oomph than Vegemite, but I’m sure many Aussies would disagree with me!
(by the way the comment you meant
somehow ended up in the moderation queue)

Michelle, Vegemite is a yeast extract like Marmite, only it’s “proudly made in Australia”

Thanks for the lead, Azman. It isn’t a prized item, as many people loathe it anyway. But you know what they say about how things that are out of reach stoke flames of desire ;) Seriously, I’ve looked everywhere in Seremban. No luck. My last 2 jars were gifts from 2 fellow bloggers!

Jason, sure or not? By the way the craving for Marmite has somehow waned…I don’t know what’s happening to me!
